Zehren and Associates provided Master Planning, defined the Architectural Theme, and prepared the Design Regulations for Telluride Mountain Village. The Architectural Theme established a design style which recognizes influences from the historic Western Colorado mining town of Telluride, as well as the heritage of European alpine resorts. The focal point is the Gondola Plaza where the free gondola system acts as the primary transportation between the Town of Telluride, St. Sophia Ridge, Telluride Mountain Village, and the nearby parking structures.
In response to Telluride Ski Company’s master planning and marketing needs, Zehren also prepared a three-dimensional model of the entire Mountain Village and surrounding ski terrain… indicating buildings, pedestrian areas, roadways, parking, topography, vegetation, and recreational facilities.
As a follow-up to the Architectural Theme and Master Plan work, Zehren and Associates designed a number of architectural projects within Telluride, such as the Four Seasons Hotel, Kayenta, The Ridge at Telluride Condominium Residences, and the Ridge Cabins at the Mountain Village, along with Etta Place in the historic town—all of which provide top-notch resort accommodations.
