The Boundary Townhomes is an enclave of 33 townhome residences located within 11 buildings along the River Valley Ranch Golf Course Resort in Carbondale, Colorado. Located near the Crystal River and adjacent to the 18th Fairway, each of these 2- to 4-bedroom homes is blessed with stunning views. The project is located in the very heart of the River Valley Ranch community and adjacent to the community building, the golf clubhouse, and the recreation center.
Each of the buildings was carefully sited to maximize the available views from each unit to Mt. Sopris—Carbondale’s dominant skyline feature—as well as the river and golf course. Building location was also chosen to preserve views through the project between buildings, particularly at key intersecting streets.
The building forms and materials recall an easy-going ranch vernacular. Rough-sawn cedar board and batten siding, cedar shake siding, and horizontal channel rustic siding are stained with a transparent stain that provides a weathered appearance and complements the historic ranch barn which is now used as a sales center and community recreation center. Metal-roofed Corten porches with exposed structure, many with railings and flower boxes, provide a wonderful entry statement to the units. Less formal covered porches and patios on the rear of the units allow for relaxation and a place to take in the views and the sunset.
