The Chongli Thaiwoo Starwood Element was designed by Zehren for Starwood Group as a four-star hotel with 168 keys totaling 9,950 square meters. The Starwood includes the lobby, ski retail, and indoor pool along the pedestrian street/ plaza level, with multiple restaurants and guest rooms above. Starwood Group originally planned to design the building as a sustainable, LEED facility but later altered their strategy due to market forces. The building was designed with similar massing to the other Thaiwoo hotels, utilizing sloped, stepped roofs with work with the site and complement the natural features of the ski mountain. Natural materials such as stone veneer and wood siding, along with exposed timber beams, help tie the building to its context.
