The Creekside Condominiums at Solitude is located in the heart of Utah’s Big Cottonwood Canyon at the base of Solitude Mountain Resort. The building includes 18 residential condominiums with ski-in/ ski-out access, a restaurant, retail boutique, and underground parking garage.
The architectural design is a blend of Utah’s many local traditions with other influences from the greater Rocky Mountain Region. References to Utah’s historic mining towns are realized by a carefully profiled copper roof and ornamental wrought-iron balcony railings. Local granite and quartzite are used at exterior walls, chimneys, interior lobbies, and dining rooms. The restaurant, which is sited to offer the most spectacular views of the Wasatch Range, includes a large stone exterior patio that merges gracefully with the vaulted interior.
Skiers access the restaurant and lodging directly from the main mountain as well as a comprehensive ski-way network, which runs through the village. After the building was in operation for many years, Zehren and Associates also provided concept designs for numerous remodel and expansion projects to Creekside.
