Zehren and Associates provided the Master Planning and Conceptual Architectural Design for the Malibu Valley Ranch Resort, located in the coastal mountains just above Malibu, California.
The overall concept of the resort combined vineyards, wine production, a small luxury hotel, spa, restaurants, and clustered villas set within the oak-studded meadows of the Malibu mountains. The Master Plan also included a thoroughbred breeding and training facility as part of the ranch.
The composition of the plan and the architectural character is reminiscent of an Italian hilltown. The hotel and villas front directly on the vineyards, and the access to the hotel and spa follows a winding village street with places for outdoor dining and social interaction.
