In addition to the custom home design at Lot 8, Spruce Peak Realty engaged Zehren and Associates to design a custom residence at Lot 6 for clients from the Boston area.  This custom home sits atop one of the premier lots within the Switchback Terrace neighborhood.  The 7,500-SF home boasts views to “the Chin,” Mt. Mansfield, and down valley.

Due to the steep site the home is 4 stories, with the two-story main entry on the lowest level adjacent to the garage, ski room, and mud room.  A stair spills into the entry level and connects it with the first living level, which includes the family room, kitchenette, two secondary bedrooms, and a home gym with oversized corner windows.  A separate grand stair leads to the main living level, comprised of the living room, dining, kitchen, two junior suites, and laundry.  The same stair also leads to the primary suite on the top level, which features his and hers offices.  A future elevator has been accommodated on all 4 levels of the home.

The exterior of the home is finished in wood siding, metal panels, and local granite stone.  The greatly oversized windows take full advantage of the sweeping views offered by this hilltop lot and at night the residence appears as a “beacon on the hill.”
