Cassie, a registered architect from Texas, comes to Zehren with over a decade of experience, having worked on projects of all sizes, with a specialty in hospitality.

She obtained her degree in 2011 from The University of Texas at Austin.  Part of her schooling included study abroad in Italy for three months, staying in the small town of Castiglion Fiorentino while studying various towns throughout Tuscany.  Upon graduating, she went on to work on a large Marriott tower project in Downtown, Houston, Tx, the one she likes to tell people has a large, Texas-shaped lazy river on the roof of its 6-story podium.   She was also the Project Architect for a Lake | Flato – designed Hilton Canopy in Downtown, Austin, Tx.  Then, in late 2024, fate finally decided to coax her out of Texas when she got the job here.  She had vacationed throughout rural Colorado with her family over the years and decided it was time to try it out for a longer stay.

In her downtime, she loves spending time outdoors with her dog, Raven.  A couple of her favorite things about Colorado so far include not needing the AC and getting to see the local deer and other wildlife outside her window in the mornings and evenings.

She is also a village enthusiast with a passion for affordable housing.  She hopes to find a way to build a village like Vail affordably, for people who wish to have a small-town life with less cars and a little less tourism, focusing a little more on healthy values like peace, community and sustainability for all, rather than capitalistic gain for the few.
